Telenor Pakistan reportedly second-quarter decline in subscription and a 70 percent lower gross customer intake during the COVID-19 lockdown. The operator lost 1.4 million customers in the three months to 30 June 2020. Telenor Pakistan reached revenues of NOK 1.48 billion in the second quarter of 2020, down from NOK 1.58 billion in the year.
Telenor Pakistan’s subscription and traffic revenues fell 11 percent, mainly due to the COVID-19 lockdown in addition to lower ARPU, parent company Telenor reported. The mobile customer base closed at 45.1 million, which is 3 percent higher year 2020.EBITDA fell 1 percent, as opex reductions due to lower market activity and cost control were not sufficient to fully offset the low revenue . Nonrecurring items this quarter had a positive impact on EBITDA of approximately 11 percentage points higher.
